Bright purple, with red edges. There’s something noble about this wine. Concentration and poise – cassis; tobacco leaf; and dried herbs. Oak persuades the fruit to sing its song. Less is so much more. Deference to cool-climate Cabernet sets the winemaker apart. It will age for decades in the tradition of Bordeaux.
Sourced from our two vineyards in Orange, this Sauvignon Blanc benefits from the ripeness and tropical notes from our home block at Griffin Rd (740m), and the thirst-slaking acidity generated of our newer vineyard at Wallace Lane (1000m).
With the rise of the “natural wine” movement, we were pleased to discover we’d been making this wine “that way” for years…with wild yeast , no additions and no clarification, this is a wine of energy and life.
Lovely rich straw colour from centre to rim – it’s erudite and refined. It has a tease of citrus, and a hint of dried-herbs with fine ribs flowing from an acid spine.
Cranberries and BRIGHT red cherries – overtly aromatic, and compelling before it’s sipped. There’s no identity crisis here – unmistakable FRANC – the fruit sits proudly above all else.
It’s not opaque, but it is serious. Intense notes of white pepper; woodspice; and mulberries. Fragrant and generous. A Northern Rhone sensibility (Hermitage) adorns this wine.
Vibrant purple – the colour more the sum than its parts. Red fruits and a brooding core in concert with oak-derived spice. Its strength is through its subtlety.
Very deep opaque crimson in colour. A complex nose showing sweet, lifted aromas of red currants, plums, tobacco and violets with cedar, cigar box and anise notes. A great vintage, drink now to 2016.
